HHS Teacher Andrea Conners Resigns

Andrea Conners in the Highlander Yearbook

On National Teacher Appreciation Day, one Highlands High School teacher can no longer claim to be apart of Highlands' esteemed teaching corp.

Andrea Conners abruptly submitted her letter of resignation last Thursday and hired an attorney Saturday. No one is saying a word. No one has to.

The local news outlets, the school, nor Conners are commenting directly on the allegations swirling around the streets of Fort Thomas, but the details will be forthcoming. And the residents will eat them up like a pack of jackals. Early reports have Conners resigning due to an alleged sexual relationship with a student(s).

Highlands has been so tight lipped about the situation, teachers at the school were not even told the teacher's name.

Conners, who has taught business at Highlands for the last 8 years, has by all accounts been a good teacher. Here's her profile on ratemyteacher.com. On a scale of 1-5, she is rated 4.1 on the easy scale. That's pretty easy, if you ask me. (hat tip to CM Tomlin on that joke).

When I was looking up ratemyteacher.com, I took this screenshot:

In the wake of all these teacher scandals, perhaps the brain-trust at ratemyteacher.com may want to change the wording here.

A rather facetious post given the seriousness -- for all involved -- of the rumors.

Be Respectful. There is not enough information on the situation for you to call Mrs. Conners "Easy" and insult her. As a former student. Mrs. Connners was an excellent teacher and yes her class was simple because it was an elective course. Mrs. Conners was a good teacher. This situation is unfortunate and upsetting for all involved and all who know the student as well as Mrs. Conners.

I'd save my respect for those who deserve it.. Whether you think Ms.Conners was a good teacher has little to do with her morals.

It appears that she has failed in her utmost duty as a schoolteacher, and that is to protect our children. Not only has she not protected them, she has preyed on one of them.

If that were my son, she would need police protection.

I pray our city will unite in supporting all families involved. The long-term effects emotionally can be devastating. Guard our tongues. Highlands has proven once again they are focused on our children and proven they uphold the excellent standard among all. Please respect and support our children and families, no good comes from exploiting them in media or gossip. We should be the example of respect and love to our community during such a time. Justice will handle the rest, let us focus on supporting and loving our children through this.

For just once will people start believing that there children are not so innocent. It takes two to Tango. I've seen some high school jocks who would pass for 25 easily.

I think its perfectly fine what she did. Everyone needs to calm down and respect her. She is a gorgeous woman. Any man would want her. So lets calm down people...it was gonna happen sooner or later.

Her sons and husband deserve better. I hope they can move on, she is not fit for life as a mother, wife or teacher. God bless all involved, what a tragedy.

Figures. I left this town 41 years ago and it has not changed. Still small town mentality with nothing to do but gossip. It is on the news, that is all you people need concern your self with. Honestly, get your own sex lives and stop living others.

Thank God I got out.
