Fort Thomas Weekend News & Notes
1. In case you haven't seen it yet, Highlands has a Flying Pig in the latest version of the 'Big Pig Gig' - the ceramic pigs dotting Cincinnati. The pig is located at the banks on the southwest corner of what has been built out at the Banks so far (just down the sidewalk from Orange Leaf.
2. Fox 19 has some additional coverage of the 4th of July festivities including the classic cars at Tower Park.
3. Patrick Towles continues to add to his high school resume as his college career begins as he was named one of twelve finalists for the Larosa's High School MVP of the year.
4. Fort Thomas Independent Schools has begun closing grades to new registrations. Grades 6-11 are completely closed and there is talk that many grades in Moyer and other elementary schools will soon be closing for registration as well. Enrollment in Fort Thomas schools has rocketed from 2,300 in 2003 to over 2,800. There are now waiting lists for many grades and it does make me wonder if we may be looking a Fort Thomas Swim Club-esque wait list in a couple years.
