Mama on a Budget- Weekend before Christmas

The sleigh is packed, the reindeer fed, your presents bought, waiting under your bed.  School is out, for winter break, and just now you’ve realized your big mistake.  Three straight weeks, of Christmas “cheer”, what will you do, with time so dear?  I’ve got you covered, so do not fret, below is a guide, so follow it.  I swear you’ll stay sane, and survive through New Year’s, and when they’re back at school, you may even miss your little dears.

FRIDAY December 21-

Winter Solstice- Festival of Lights
Where: Cincinnati Museum Center Grand Rotunda, Cincinnati
When: Friday from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM
Fee: Free
Ages: All

Teach your kiddos about winter holidays from around the world! Celebrate and participate in hands on activities about Holidays such as Hanukkah, Diwali, Chinese New Year and more.

Scuba Santa
Where: Newport Aquarium
When: Everyday till January 1
Fee: $15-$23/person
Ages: All

Visit Scuba Santa at the Newport Aquarium and discover why he’s been called one of the most unusual holiday experiences in America.

SATURDAY December 22-

Santa Open Paintball Play
Where: Town & Country Sports and Health Club, Wilder, KY
When: Saturday from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM
Fee: $25/person
Ages: 10 & up

Jolly Old St. Nick likes to have fun too and he’s waiting for your crew! Santa Claus will be joining in for some paintball fun...although we hear he isn’t very good! Bring your tweens out for this special open play time.

Sunrock Farm
Where: Sunrock Farm, Northern Kentucky
When: Saturday 9:30am-2:30pm
Fee: $50/Day
Ages: 4-11

Hands-on fun for children on holiday break. Care for horses, goats, sheep, rabbits, pigs and other farm animals. Hike and explore outdoors, then move to heated barns for snacks, games and crafts.

SUNDAY December 23-

Mainstrasse Holiday Magic & Gifts
Where: Wertheim’s, Covington, KY
When: Sunday from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM
Fee: Cost of your meal
Ages: All

Take the kiddos to Covington for a festive brunch at Wertheim’s. Not only will the scrumptious grub keep you happy you will be treated to a magic show & special gifts for the tykes.

PNC Festival Of Lights
Where: Cincinnati Zoo
When: Until January 1, 5-9pm
Fee: $20-$25/person (Buy online it's cheaper)
Ages: All
