Vito’s CafĂ© holds a dear place in my heart; my husband
worked there throughout college.
We held our wedding rehearsal dinner there. And while we don’t go as
often as we should or as often as the food deserves, each time we do it is an
enjoyable and memorable experience.
I would imagine most of the readers who have dined at Vito’s have
similarly fond memories, given to them by owners Vito and Mary Ciepiel.
Now, here’s your chance to help Vito’s give even more but
this time, not to a bride-to-be or her wide-eyed future husband, but to
Northern Kentucky homeless children and the deserving charities offering
support. On February 12 (Fat
Tuesday) from 6:30 to 10:00, the Northern Kentucky Restaurant Association (Vito
Ciepiel is on the Board of Directors) will be hosting the 22nd
Annual Mardi Gras Celebration to raise money for Bethany House Services,
Brighton Center’s Homeward Bound, Welcome House of Northern Kentucky, and Mercy
Health-St. John.
The donation is $55 and includes food, beverage, and live Louisiana-style
music by Robin Lacy and DeZydeco. Guests include Kit Andrews (Local 12 News) as
the Queen and Eddie Fingers (WLW-AM) as King. The event will be at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. More information can be found at www.nkramardigras.com.
