Merchants and Music Festival Adds Chris Janson to Lineup

If you're counting down the days until this year's event, I have good news for you: another musical act has been added to the lineup. Country music's rising star, Chris Janson, will be performing at the festival.

Adding another musician to the Amphitheater stage was not a decision festival planners took lightly. They worked with music management companies to find the perfect act for Ft. Thomas. I recently spoke with Chairman Ashli Slawter about this year's festival, and the addition of Chris Janson to the lineup. "We decided to add an 'up and comer' in the country music industry to the lineup.  To do so we communicated with several management companies in Nashville to find a great young artist. We decided Chris Janson was a good fit because we love his sound and stage presence," said Slawter. Janson has been making waves in the county music scene with his song, "Better I Don't." You can check out Janson's website for more information on his music career.

For music fans, this year's festival will not disappoint. It's poised to be bigger and better than ever. Be ready for a day jam-packed with music. According to Slawter, "The music will never end!  There will be music on one of the two stages at any given time!  We have extended the hours of the festival to 2:00pm to 11:00pm, and will expand the site to include more businesses, a wine festival, and a USO tent to thank our service members." Here's what you can expect from this year's two stages:

Amphitheater:
John Michael Montgomery
The Kentucky Headhunters
Chris Janson (Sponsored by Jeff Wyler Chrysler Jeep Dodge Fort Thomas)

Second Stage:
HHS Sinfonia
Carter New Band (Sponsored by Your Town Realtors)
Aly’an (Sponsored by Jeri Stull Orthodontics)

Along with the addition of Janson to the lineup, more businesses have signed on as sponsors this year. Kroger Newport Pavilion, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, and Marsh Building Products have all taken on sponsorship positions recently. These new sponsors will join Jeff Wyler Chrysler Jeep Dodge Fort Thomas, SimpTech Solutions, Jeri Stull Orthodontics, Your Town Realtors, and The Bank of Kentucky to make this year's event great.

According to Slawter, one more band may be added to the second stage. We'll keep you updated on any new information regarding this year's festival.
