More "Revive the Drive" Fun for I-471: How it Affects Ft. Thomas

Note to state officials: rhyming traffic pattern platitudes do not make your construction plans more palatable.
Getting anywhere via I-471 is not going to be a joy this summer. In fact, it is going to suck. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet unveiled more time tables and plans today just as the weather (and tempers) begin to further rise.
Here's the latest from the "Revive the Drive" website: Also, just in case, here are 10 tips for handling Road Rage here.

KENTUCKY WORK

•Traffic is currently reduced to two lanes and is in a shifted position with both shoulders closed from Exit 5 (KY 8) to just north of Exit 1 (I-275/I-471 Interchange). This traffic pattern will continue until further notice. The speed limit through this section is 55 MPH.

•At Exit 1 (I-275/I-471 Interchange), traffic in the left lane must exit at exit 1A to I-275 eastbound. Traffic in the right lane may exit at 1B to I-275 westbound or continue through the interchange to US 27 at Highland Heights. Shoulders are also closed in this area. This traffic pattern will continue until further notice. The speed limit through this section is 45 MPH.

•At the intersection of KY 471 and US 27 in Highland Heights, left hand turn movements onto north US 27 are prohibited while traffic is reduced to two lanes for the construction.

•The I-471 southbound entrance ramp from Memorial Parkway (KY 1120) is closed until further notice. Traffic is being detoured onto I-471 northbound to Exit 5 (KY 8) and then back onto I-471 southbound. This closure is expected to be in place through mid July.

Beginning at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 14th, the I-275 westbound ramp (Exit 74A) to KY 471 southbound and to US 27 in Highland Heights will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to continue westbound on I-275 to Exit 77 (KY 9) and back onto I-275 eastbound to Exit 74A. This ramp is expected to be closed until June 24th.
I-275 WB AT THE I-471 INTERCHANGE in Campbell County - REVIVE THE DRIVE – NKY
•Crews are working along the right shoulder of I-275 WB in this area. Watch for construction vehicles entering and leaving traffic in this area.

•Traffic may encounter flagging operations with short delays on Three Mile Road at the I-275 overpass as part of the work being performed in the area adjacent to Three Mile Road.

  1. Mark, this has nothing to do w/471, but could we start a thread/discussion/article regarding Churchill [street] and what TERRIBLE shape it is it?!?! There are huge potholes, the road is bucked, crumbling and in general horrible condition. Every time I happen to drive on that road, I'm sure I'm going to lose a car part in the process!
