The hunting will be allowed a half hour before sunrise until 10am. Also instead of the 3 acre regulatory hunting zone, now neighboring houses can combine lots which may make an already nebulous hunting zone more difficult for residents to know where their children should steer clear of.
Whether you are for the hunt or against it, one thing is absolutely clear: Fort Thomas residents should know where and what lots are approved for hunting for safety purposes.
Since the deer hunt has begun the deer count has dropped significantly. From 205 down to 96 in 2013, however traffic accidents of all types have actually increased.
Fort Thomas has gone from 31.9 deer per square mile to now 15 deer per square mile in 2013. Deer density should be between 8-20 per square mile
The first reading of this ordinance is tonight at 7:00 at the city building. Let your voice be heard. This is one of the main reasons why FortThomasMatters was started. If you do not go and let your voice be heard, you should not complain about the outcomes.
This is your city.
