In the coming weeks
there are some great events taking place in Fort Thomas. One event will satisfy
your local dining needs while the other will set the bar for honoring our vets.
Last week I brought
the USO Dance to the attention of our readers. The USO Dance is an outstanding
event happening this Friday night, but the Salute to Veterans is a completely
different opportunity for all of us to honor those who have served.
The Salute to Veterans
is a weekend-long tribute to the veterans. It is taking place next weekend,
November 9 and 10. It will be Saturday, November 9 from 10-5, and Sunday, November 10 from noon-4.
I contacted Debbie
Buckley to see what exciting things are planned for this year’s Salute to
Veterans?
Debbie said, “Wait
‘till you see what is coming for The Salute to Veterans!” She continued, “We
have great exhibits and re-enactors! We have a movie written and produced right
here in Fort Thomas. We are going to have a photo contest where all of the
entries have been submitted by students, and they had to draw something related
to the theme “What Does the Flag Mean to Me?” Debbie finished with what may be
the highlight of the event, “On Sunday there will be more than 120 second grade
students that will sing patriotic songs starting at 2 o’clock!”
From the amazing
details that Debbie provided you can tell that a lot has gone into this two-day
tribute to our vets. It is going to be a special weekend for those who served,
and who will be honored throughout the weekend. This Friday it will be the USO
Dance honoring war veterans, and next weekend will be the Salute to Veterans.
Two incredible events spanning two weekends and three days, they are not to be
missed!
The next great
announcement for the city is that Sarelli's is opening
again! Their grand re-opening comes after overwhelming requests from
customers to open the café again. Sarah Cole, the general manager, sent out an
email announcing that she has heard the public’s cry for Sarelli’s services and
she is excited to declare, “We’re back in business!”
In her email she says,
“Our menu will be a bit different than it was before. We will still have some
old favorites like paninis, turkey ‘n swiss, hot soup and awesome desserts. We
will also be offering items from our catering menu as well.”
Sarelli’s will have their
grand re-opening on November 4 at 11:00am. They will be open for
lunch Monday through Friday from 11-1, for dine in or carry out, and Sarah said
that she might extend the hours depending on demand. If you love your hot soups
and paninis DEMAND THEM, support Sarelli’s with your wallet and your patronage.
Sarah finished by saying, “I am excited to see all of our awesome customers
again! We missed them.” If you have any questions you can call Sarelli’s at 513-377-3663
or visit their Facebook page through the link above.
Awesome!
