It is an
incredible trait to put your country before your self. It is a rare
characteristic that is to be celebrated and acknowledged at every opportunity,
but for a lot of people those opportunities to thank a service member are few
and far between. Come November first Fort Thomas residents will have the
perfect opportunity to say thank you to all of our local veterans.
The sixth annual
USO Dance is being held at the Fort Thomas Community Center presented by The
Ft. Thomas Renaissance Board and the Ft. Thomas Military & Community Museum. The event goes from seven to 11 with a catered dinner and a live band! The dance is open to the public, and especially our veterans and their families
and friends. All attending service men and women will be honored during the
dinner.
Any and all veterans are invited free of charge, and a special invite has been extended to all the veterans at the VA Hospital in Fort Thomas. Since there
is no cost to the veterans the Renaissance Board is accepting sponsors to cover
the cost of each veteran attendee, which is just $10 (all other tickets are $25). You can sponsor as many
veterans as you would like. Think of it as a simple thank you for their service
and sacrifice for our country! All of the veterans have such a great time at
this event. It is a special night where the community gets a unique opportunity
to not only interact with our best and bravest citizens, but to tell them thank
you for everything they did for Fort Thomas and the United States.
If you would
like to sponsor a veteran you are asked to send your donation to Fort Thomas
Renaissance USO Dance, 25 N Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, Ky 41075. If
you want more information or have any questions, please contact Linda Stapleton
Slone at 859-441-3302 or 859-750-9532 or Debbie Buckley, at
