BREAKING: FTPD Concludes Assault Investigation, Area Juveniles Face Charges

by PAT LaFLEUR
Police Reporter, Fort Thomas Matters

Three male juveniles, one from Park Hills, one from Covington, and the third from Ft. Wright, have been arrested and charged for involvement in three assaults that occurred in Ft. Thomas and Southgate on Sunday, Nov. 3, according to FTPD Chief Mike Daly

Daly also confirmed that at least one of the suspects was also involved in a fourth assault and attempted robbery that occurred Friday evening, Nov. 1, on the 200 block of N. Ft. Thomas Ave.

Two of the suspects have been charged with two counts of assault in the fourth degree and 1 count of attempted assault in the fourth degree. The third suspect is charged with robbery in the 2nd degree, two counts of assault in the fourth degree and one count of attempted assault in the fourth degree.

One of the suspects is also facing robbery charges for the incident on Alexandria Pike in Southgate.

The FTPD’s investigation also concluded that the two female suspects identified early on were only acquaintances of the three male suspects, and were not involved in any criminal activity.

Chief Daly attributes the investigation’s success to community involvement and awareness.

"Knowing your community is the bottom line,” Daly says, applauding his officers and detectives for using connections within the community to identify witnesses and leads in order to apprehend the suspects.

The FTPD made their last charge Saturday, officially closing the investigation.

The three suspects are currently being held in the Campbell County Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Newport.
