Panera Grand Opening Tomorrow

NEWPORT, Ky.--We learned last week that Vito's Café will shut it's doors for good. As champions of "shop local" Fort Thomas Matters is sorry to see the long time Fort Thomas restaurant close.

Eateries in town like Cobblestone Café are still doing well, and appreciate when you choose their fresh sandwiches and soup over a franchise burger.

We encourage you to support Ft. Thomas businesses, but we also must present the news of businesses moving into the area, which will be the case on Wednesday.

The Newport Pavilion will welcome another great restaurant to the already thriving Pavilion Parkway.

Panera Bread will open their bakery-café on January 15, 2014 at 6:00 a.m. The restaurant will be drive-thru accessible, and their 21st restaurant in the Cincinnati area.

To celebrate the grand opening on January 15, beginning at 6:00 a.m., the first 1,000 customers will receive a free Panera Bread Coffee Tumbler with free coffee refills through the end of January. In addition, the first 1,000 customers inside the restaurant, as well as the first 300 drive-thru customers, will receive a free Cinnamon Crunch Bagel while supplies last.

The giveaways don’t end there with Panera. On January 18 they will host a “Mystery Gift Card Giveaway.” The gift card giveaway will consist of 100 gift cards ranging in value from $5 to $100. They will be given out to customers starting at 10 a.m. and will continue until all the cards are handed out.

The Newport Panera Bread will feature all the amenities that you are used to experiencing in their restaurants. It will feature a fireplace, outdoor patio, comfortable and spacious dining area, the newest artwork and WIFI. The new restaurant also presents over 50 new jobs to the area, 55 hourly positions and 4 salaried managers.

Panera Bread, as a franchise, is known for their charitable donations and interest in giving back to the community. Craig Flom, President of Breads of the World, LLC, franchisee of Panera Bread in Southwest Ohio, said, “We feel strongly about being a responsible corporate citizen and plan to support the Freestore Foodbank, neighborhood fundraisers and charitable efforts on an on-going basis.”

Various Northern Kentucky agencies will participate in Panera Bread’s signature “Operation Dough-Nation” Day-End Donation Program at the new Newport bakery-cafe, where all unsold bread and baked goods will be donated to community organizations serving people truly in need of food.

The Newport Pavilion Panera Bread hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
