Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Lifelong Republican Deb Sheldon filed paperwork with the Kentucky Secretary of State to formally enter the Republican primary to follow retiring State Senate Pro Temp Katie Stine.
Deb
is a lifelong conservative Republican.
Deb has lived in Campbell County for over 20 years. She has decades of public service
experience. Deb learned the value of
public service from her father who rose to rank of general in the United States
Army and Army National Guard. She has
been a Republican since she turned 18.
She brings a diverse background to the race. Deb is a veteran of the National Guard where
she served as a clinical nurse on helicopter ambulances. She also received educational training as a
clinical nurse. Deb is a graduate of
Northern Kentucky University with a degree in psychology. She also served in several roles while
working with the Methodist church in Kenton and Campbell counties. Deb has been married to her husband Troy
for 24 years and has one daughter, Jade.
This is her first run for public office.
Deb
will be a fresh, focused, leader in Frankfort.
Deb’s military experience taught her to not back down from a fight, no
matter how big the challenge. She is
committed to education, legalizing school choice in Kentucky, workplace freedom
legislation, reforming the tort system, protecting family farms, equalizing
funding for N.K.U., and not profiting from a state pension as a part-time
legislator.
“I am humbled by the support I have already
received from countless friends and supporters.
It is not my intention to become another career politician with a
government pension for part-time service when our schools can’t afford new text
books. I am running because our district
needs a strong voice with lifelong conservative, Republican values to follow
Senator Stine. Sending another trial
lawyer to Frankfort will not solve our problems,” Sheldon said after filing
her paperwork in Frankfort.
Sheldon’s
campaign website is www.sheldonforsenate.com where voters can sign up for updates to follow Deb
on the campaign trial. Deb can be
followed on Twitter at Deb4Senate2014.
Deb can be reached for further comment at 859-816-7808.
