One of NKY's Most Wanted Caught Today in Newport

An anonymous tip came into the Fort Thomas Matters Facebook page that Newport Police had caught one of Northern Kentucky's Most Wanted. Tim Hollingsworth, 46, had been sought by Newport police after being spotted at the Newport Pavilion in the last few days.

An employee at Walgreen's on the corner of Carothers Road and Monmouth Street recognized him from a flyer passed out by Newport Police over the last week and called the police, where he was arrested today. An eye-witness account detailed a harrowing scene as police surrounded Hollinsworth, who had to be tased before being taken into custody.

According to the flyer, Hollingsworth would ransack cars looking for purses and wallets for credit cards to buy gift cards to use at local retailers.

From the Northern Kentucky Crimestoppers page:

Police are looking for Tim Hollingsworth for a variety of different offenses. Hollingsworth currently has a warrant for 2nd Degree Assault out of Elsmere Kentucky. In addition to this warrant, Tim Hollingsworth has been identified as a suspect in multiple vehicle thefts, thefts from autos and fraudulent uses of credit cards both in Kentucky and Hamilton County. He is the suspect in the theft from a sheriff’s deputy vehicle where a set of handcuffs and a badge were taken. Tim Hollingsworth is a white male, 46 years old, 5’6” and 170 lbs. He has a criminal history that includes arrests for robbery, misuse of a credit card and theft. Officers say that he is an escape risk, as he has escaped from custody in the past. Detectives say that Hollingsworth has been seen on video with a heavy-set female that they have not yet been able to identify. If you know the location of Tim Hollingsworth, or if you can identify this female, contact Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
