NKY Officers Make record Heroin Bust

Via WLWT - FLORENCE, Ky. —A Northern Kentucky drug task force says it has made a record drug bust.
Officers with the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force and the Lexington Narcotics Enforcement Unit said they arrested four suspects in connection with a heroin ring.

Investigators said they arrested Tamara Wombles, 28, Duran Wombles, 27, and Lauren Summers, 22, at the Turfside Motel on Dixie Highway in Florence.

Officers said the trio had about half a pound of black tar heroin in their possession. They were charged with trafficking heroin and engaging in organized crime. They face up to 20 years in prison if they are convicted.

According to investigatiors, after arresting the three in Northern Kentucky, they were led to Jesus Lizarraras-Estuoillo, 27, in Lexington.

Officers said Lizarraras-Estuoillo had nearly 1.5 pounds of black tar heroin hidden in his apartment. He was also charged with trafficking heroin.

Detectives said that during their four-month investigation, undercover agents bought heroin from Duran Wombles and Summers. They said they got the heroin from Tamara Wombles.

Officers said they believe the Wombleses were supplying heroin to dealers throughout Northern Kentucky.

Florence police, Elsmere police and agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement assisted with the investigation.
