The Fort Thomas Forest Conservancy has A Day in the Park planned for April 26 to reforest Rossford Park.
The day will be packed full of fun events and volunteer work aimed at making the park beautiful once again.
The conservancy is planning on planting about 400 saplings at the park.
There are events planned for children as well including A Gnomadic Quest for Kids. This quest will be a fun scavenger hunt to find the gnomes who have moved into the park to help with the reforestation. Kids will have to follow clues and answer riddles to find all the new inhabitants of Rossford Park.
With the Kentucky Derby quickly approaching A Day in the Park wanted to get in on the racing action. They will have an insect derby where participants will be able to race a pill bug.
The afternoon will also feature several educational and informative booths where people can speak with environmental professionals. The booths will include the Kentucky Division of Fish and Wildlife, Meet a Beekeeper, Ky Division of Forestry, The Garden Coach, Demonstration of Stream Study
All of the participants in A Day in the Park will go home with free sapling.
A Day in the Park goes from 2 to 5 p.m. on April 26 at Rossford Park.
