MartinE Productions, Inc., has marked the summer of 2014 as the inaugural season of its Camp Martweenie theatre camp for fifth through eighth-grade students in the Cincinnati area.
“Camp Martweenie caters to young people who have shown an interest in theatre, whether they have had experience or simply have shown a curiosity to learn about it,” said Emily Carroll-Martin, Producer and Co-Creator of Camp Martweenie. “We’ve designed the camp curriculum to allow kids to explore theatre and have fun in a no-pressure environment.”
Camp Martweenie is offered in three sessions throughout June and July. Participants will rotate through music, dance, and acting sessions. This is the perfect class for both beginners and experienced performers. Parents can choose one of the Morning Showcase Sessions (June 23 – July 3 or July 7 – July 18), or the Afternoon Full Production Session (June 23 – July 11). Each session runs Monday-Friday for three hours each day, and at the end of each session there will be a performance where family and friends may attend to watch their kids exhibit on stage what they have learned. The Afternoon session affords a guaranteed role for each student in the final performance.
Camp sessions will be held at the Stained Glass Theatre on York Street in Newport, KY, a venue that is provided due to the partnership of MartinE Productions and The Footlighters, Inc.
