The Campbell County Relay For Life will be held this year on Friday, May 30th, starting at 6:00 pm and continuing throughout the night till 6:00 am
the next morning.
The Relay For Life is a way to honor cancer survivors, remember our
loved one and to raise funds to help beat cancer!
The event will be in
held in Tower Park by the Mess Hall and the Amphitheater. The idea is
that since cancer never sleeps, the event goes
for 12 hours. During that time, different teams will have people
walking for friends, families and lost loved ones. We have 17 teams
registered. The teams have been hosting fundraisers to come to the
event with donations. The evening of the event, each
team will be selling different foods such as waffles, baked goods, ice
cream floats, pancakes, walking tacos, grilled items, fries cake pops,
chips/pretzels, soft drinks, water, coffee, etc. along with items for
people to purchase, such as glow sticks, bracelets,
face-painting, hair painting, nail painting, and piƱata. All proceeds
will go to the American Cancer Society for the Relay For Life. We will
also be hosting a Survivor Dinner. Our opening ceremony will be at 6:00 pm
with our keynote speaker being Ken Shields.
Josh McIntosh and Company Band will be our featured band for the
evening. We will also have a DJ, guest bands, Vince Bonhaus &
Johnny Horan will be playing. Other activities that evening are
