Five New Businesses Coming to Fort Thomas Towne Center

Former location of Mio's Pizza, soon to be renovated and re-opened as a brick-oven pizza restaurant in the Fort Thomas Towne Center
Five new businesses have committed to opening in the Fort Thomas Towne Center district, just north of the intersection of Highland and Fort Thomas Avenues, according to Fort Thomas Renaissance Manager and Economic Development Director Debbie Buckley.

As FTM reported early this year, Ed and Lori Gossman have announced that they will open a brick oven pizza restaurant at 15 N. Fort Thomas Ave., former home to Mio's Pizzeria. Buckley reports the Gossmans have already gutted the upper level of the building, hoping to open sometime this fall.

Next door, at 19 N. Fort Thomas, local artist and educator Parrish Monk hopes to open the Independent Northern Kentucky Artists and Artisans Business Incubator (INKAA), a business incubator, art cooperative, art gallery, artisan retail shop, and community arts education center. Monk is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the art center.

Just a stroll up the Avenue, at 33 N. Fort Thomas, Ashli Slawter and Brian Shakelford will open Schone -- German for "beautiful one" -- a kitchen and bath design center. While working hard to make the space their own, the owners have announced that any customer to order before their Fall grand opening will receive a 15% discount on cabinets.

Finally, also moving into 33 N. Fort Thomas will be SimpTech Solutions, a lifestyle technology integration services company, and marketing agency Marketing With Class.

"We're happy to welcome all these businesses to the Towne Center," Buckley said.

Residents should see these changes to the properties taking shape in the Towne Center throughout the summer.
