HEBRON, Ky. -- Allegiant Airlines announced Wednesday night that it will slash prices on airfare from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to six of its vacation destination cities Thursday, for one day only.
According to an Enquirer report, Allegiant has engaged in what the report calls a "price war," dropping its prices in response to Frontier Airlines' announcement earlier this week that it will be expanding its destination offerings out of CVG.
On Thursday only, travelers can find discounted ticket prices to these destinations, while tickets remain available:
- Orlando: $29
- Fort Lauderdale: $29
- Las Vegas: $49
- Phoenix: $49
- Tampa Bay: $56
- Punta Gorda, FL: $68
"Allegiant launched at CVG in February and has since started or announced several new flights – making Cincinnati the fastest-growing airport in the airline's 15-year history," the report states.
The Enquirer also reported that the airline, having struck a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals, will also have a regular presence during pre-game tailgating, in the "Jungle Zone" at Paul Brown Stadium, where fans will have the chance to win free flights before each home game.
