Upcoming Traffic Announcements for Campbell County

There is some planned road work that is being done in Campbell County in the coming days. Most of the work will be done during off-peak hours, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, but it is better that you know about the traffic changes and road closures ahead of time.

I-471 – Milepoint 0.0 to Milepoint 5.1 – There will be periodic lane closures on I-471 Northbound and Southbound beginning Sunday, August 24th through Sunday, August 31st during off-peak hours. Drivers should exercise caution and watch for traffic control devices, construction personnel and equipment entering and leaving the work zone.

o   Beginning Sunday, August 24th at 11:00 PM, the entrance ramp from KY 8 to I-471 Southbound will be closed for approximately 3 hours for pavement work. Traffic wishing to enter I-471 Southbound should proceed on KY 8 and turn South on Monmouth St. (US 27). Traffic should then turn left on to 10th Street (KY 1120). The detour will end at the Southbound entrance ramp to I-471. A detour will not be posted.

o   Beginning Monday, August 25th at 2:00 AM, the entrance ramp from Memorial Parkway (KY 1120) to I-471 Southbound will be closed for approximately 3 hours for pavement work. Traffic wishing to enter I-471 Southbound should enter I-471 Northbound, then take the KY 8 exit and turn left onto West KY 8. The detour will end at the I-471 Southbound entrance ramp from KY 8. A detour will not be posted.

I-471 NB (Daniel Carter Beard Bridge) NB and SB – On September 4th, 2014, between 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, a single lane closure will be in place for a bridge inspection.  Motorists should watch for crews, equipment and lane closure.

KY 547 (Riley Road) – Lane closures will be in place on  KY 547 (Riley Road)  between 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM so crews can construct a new water main between KY 9 and KY 10 in Alexandria. Alexandria Police will be providing traffic control.  Closure will remain in place until project is complete.
