BM2 Freight Services was named a Family Business of the Year at the 2014 Goering Center Family and Private Business Awards Gala Tuesday evening at Music Hall.

Awards were presented in two divisions, Family Business Division and Private Business Division as well as three category winners of 0-15 years, 16-50 years, and 50 plus years in business.

BM2 Freight was the winner in the 0-15 years in business division.

BM2 was selected from over 75 finalists based upon an evaluation of their compliance with the 10 best practices of family and private businesses as defined by the Goering Center.

Kevin Ball, principal of BM2 Freight, said, “We are especially proud to be honored by the Goering Center because of their dedication to strengthening family businesses. We could not have done this without the support of our family, our friends, our customers, our carriers, our community and most importantly our employees.”

BM2 Freight Services, a third-party logistics provider, was founded in 2009 by Jeff Mason, Matthew Mason, and Kevin Ball.

In the six years BM2 Freight has been in business, they have averaged 39 percent growth year-over-year and have grown from 3 employees to over 25.
