The Cincinnati-based supermarket chain Kroger is currently testing an online order/in-store pick-up service at its Marketplace location in Liberty Township, with hopes to eventually expand the service to other portions of the region.

"Once we are successfully implementing the program in one store, we'll expand to other stores here in Cincinnati and eventually on to other divisions, as well," Kroger spokeswoman Rachel Betzler told WCPO.

Currently only available to employees at the Liberty Township location, no launch date has been set for the service.

Kroger officials have hinted that the new service was inspired by Harris Teeter, a southeastern and mid-Atlantic supermarket chain that offered a similar online ordering program and was acquired by Kroger in January 2014.
