Via WLWT: NEWPORT, Ky. —Newport police are investigating after finding a Marine dead in his apartment. Investigators said Anthony Martin’s  family got worried when he didn’t show up to Thanksgiving dinner.

Martin’s family told police that they searched his apartment, but he wasn’t there.

When officers executed a search warrant at the apartment Wednesday, they found Martin, 38, dead.
Investigators said Martin was shot and his body hidden in the apartment. They did not say how long Martin was dead before his body was found.

Officers were asking for help locating Anthony Otis Simpson, who was the last person seen with Martin. Simpson was convicted of murder in California and wanted for a parole violation.
Officers said they consider Simpson armed and dangerous.
