FTIS tops Niche.com's list of Best Public School Districts in Ky., HHS No. 2 high school in state

Niche.com ranked Fort Thomas Independent Schools No. 1 on its “Best Public School District” list for the state of Kentucky.

In an additional ranking, Niche named Highlands High School Kentucky’s second best public high school.

Assessments for both rankings were based on surveys collected from students, parents and alumni, as well as data from various government and public sources.

A high ranking for schools and districts indicates they contain exceptional teachers and sufficient resources. Further, survey results reveal that the respondents are happy with their school experiences in all aspects including academics, health, safety, teachers, resources, facilities, extracurricular activities, sports and fitness.

“We are very pleased to be recognized by Niche as the top school district in Kentucky. The fact that this ranking is based on stakeholder perceptions, not just test scores, makes it particularly gratifying. It is great to know that our students and community members hold our schools in such high esteem. Fort Thomas is truly a special place,” Superintendent Gene Kirchner said.

The scoring breakdown for Fort Thomas Independent Schools broke down according to the following:

Academics - A

Parent and Student Survey on Overall Experience - 4.5/5 (11 responses)
