Newport on the Levee has reclaimed the space previously occupied by one of its longest-standing tenants, making way for the expansion of another.
On Sunday, Levee management reclaimed the space occupied by Claddagh Irish Pub, resulting in the closure of the restaurant. Management called the change "a very positive step" in a news release Wednesday.
The reclaiming of the space will make way for the remodel and expansion of another long-time tenant, Bar Louie. Construction on the remodel, which will include a 1,800 sq. ft. patio and outdoor bar, will begin in early February.
In addition to the new construction, Bar Louie has also extended their lease at the Levee for another five years.
"We want to provide a quality experience to our guests and we hope that they will enjoy our new amenities," said Andrew Gallo, General Manager of Bar Louie.
The venue will continue to operate as usual during the renovation and expansion process. Construction is scheduled to be completed by early April.
