Two Fort Thomas Officers Receive Promotions

Officers Chris Goshorn and Brent Moening, being presented with their Sergeants badges by Chief Mike Daly at the council meeting on Monday.
Two Fort Thomas Police Officers received their Sergeants badges Monday night. Officers Chris Goshorn and Brent Moening both received promotions in front of a packed council's chambers, filled with fellow officers, friends and family.

Goshorn has been with the department for the past 20 years and Moening has been on the force for the past seven. Moening has spent time as a detective within the department.

"These are both great guys and great officers," said Fort Thomas Police Chief, Mike Daly. "It's really neat to be apart of both of these promotions. They have both served the city well for a long time. Not a lot of people leave because Fort Thomas is such a great city and they'll both do a great job."

Additionally both officers have been accepted to a three-week course at the Academy of Police Supervision to sharpen their sergeant skills. "It's a great opportunity for them," said Daly. "They will both use this course to find out what their leadership style will be."

Goshorn will be on second shift under the leadership of Lt. Casey Kilgore. Moening will be on the third shift under Lt. Jamey Gadzala.

Goshorn's wife, Amy, pins his sergeant badge on at his promotion ceremony.

Det. Brent Moening receives his badge from his wife, Carissa. Both officers thanked their families for their support.
