New Storefront Comes to Fort Thomas: The Polished Pearl

Via The Polished Pearl website
A new storefront has signed a lease at 118 N. Fort Thomas Avenue, right next to Fort Thomas Coffee. The Polished Pearl is a bridal showroom that features luxury evening handbags and accessories, made by hand. The textiles and bead work are all native to India because aside from selling these bags, The Polished Pearl's mission to to provide training and jobs to women in India who are victims of human trafficking.

From their website, "We are so excited to announce that we signed the lease for a store front in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. We have been working on the plans, envisioning, dreaming, and now we are ready to begin the transformation."

The Polished Pearl began with a store front in Barnstaple, England which the owners hoped would make a difference in the lives of the victims of human traficking through sustainable employment.

Now after a five year journey, they are working with trafficking survivors in India and with preventative employment in Moldavian villages. It has been quite a journey already from that little shop and we are excited about this new chapter.

Their catchphrase for the store is "every life is a pearl." The meaning behind, according to their website, it is that every life has value, especially lives that are hiding in dark places. Their company's motto is "adding a little polish to something that is already exquisite."

Their bridal showroom features belts, clutches, bridal headpieces, shawls, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Many of their items include Swarovski crystals, silk and pearls. Their price ranges from $40 to $400 on their online store.
