BREAKING: 2015 Merchants and Music Headliner Announced

"Emojis are MOAB's thing"

The 2015 headlining music act has been announced for the 2015 Merchants and Music Concert in Tower Park. The concert will be Saturday, September 26.

Past headliners include Edgar Winter, Jo Dee Messina, John Michael Montgomery and Dustin Lynch last year.

Bret Michaels will be the main act this year, changing the theme of country from the last three music festivals to rock.

"I am beyond excited that Bret Michaels will be headlining Merchants & Music Festival. Bret is a certified megastar and is part of our pop culture.  It's going to be huge for the city of Fort Thomas and a record breaking Fest," said Katie Walters Emcee of the event. "Just think about it. Bret Michaels is playing a free concert in Tower Park.  It's crazy. I want to personally thank Debbie Buckley for her determination and hard work in securing his contract. We both knew that booking (him) would take Merchants & Music to the next level and Debbie never gave up on making it happen. She's the real rock star."

Michaels was the lead man from the 80's rock group Poison, who have sold 45 million records worldwide.

Michaels has appeared in several movies and TV shows, including as a judge on the talent show Nashville Star which led to his country influenced rock album Freedom of Sound in 2005.

He starred in the hit VH1 reality show Rock of Love with Bret Michaels and its sequels, which inspired his successful solo album Rock My World.

He was also the winning contestant on NBC's reality show Celebrity Apprentice 3 and also featured in his own reality docu-series Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, which inspired his highest charting album as a solo artist, Custom Built, reaching No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock list. He is also known for hosting on the Travel Channel.

Merchants and Music will be in its 13th yearOther bands will be announced shortly. Check back to on Fort Thomas Matters for your most comprehensive coverage of the festival.

  3. Dear Lord. It was bad enough that we had to tolerate the contemporary country scene, but this is just shameful. Why don't we just have karaoke instead? Perhaps we can have Jimmy Buffet sing-alongs, serve giant margaritas, and wear parrot hats.

Hold on. I just read somewhere that is already planned. Nevermind.

This insanity will attract every brain-dead, vapid, 80s hair-metal moron in Greater Cincinnati. I'll make sure to be out of town.

    1. Wow- you have no sense of humor and you've obviously not heard about anything he's done since the 80's. Keep informed - It helps. And yes, please DO go out of town. Actually you might consider staying out of town.
