A unique fundraiser for our Campbell County YMCA is this Sunday. The Third Annual Murriner Culinary Experience will be held at Newport's New Riff Distillery from 4:30-7:00.
Come sample some great food, take a tour at New Riff Distillery up close, and listen to some acoustic tunes by Ben Walz to support the Campbell and Kenton County YMCAs scholarship fund. You’ll get to enjoy heavy hors d’ oeuvres, a silent auction, and door prizes.
Each year, the Campbell/Kenton County YMCA provides over $100,000 in scholarships to allow individuals and families to participate in Y programs and services that otherwise would financially be inaccessible. You can help provide child care for a single, working mom. Your generosity could
support our military veterans recovery from their physical and emotional wounds. Your help might also keep a child safe around the water this summer.
The silent auction is one of the biggest draws of the event. As self described foodies, event founders Darrin and Peggy Murriner have worked with local eateries to have them donate private eating experiences, that will find you eating off-menu in some of the best restaurants our area has to offer.
Some experiences include places like Bella Luna, Buona Vita, overnight package at the Westin, Main Bites in Covington, office catering from Chick-Fil-A, Carabello Coffee and Rhinegeist.
"This fundraiser is unique because it is about food experiences they can't buy anywhere else," said event co-creator Darrin Murriner. "Most fundraisers don't have a relaxed environment, but being on a Sunday afternoon contributes to good conversation and a good mission of the Y."
