NKY's Women's Ministry Hosts Heroin Information Session: Community Collaborative

Donna Blanchet and son Logan

Press Release

Monday evening, June 15th will be the date for this special event for this summer’s speaker series sponsored by Northern KY Women’s Outpost Ministry.  The goal is to bring together many agencies, civic leaders, and all other persons who either have been affected or who are helping to fight this killer epidemic to work collaboratively.

Featured this evening will be Donna Blanchet of Cincinnati who will share her story of how Jesus Christ delivered her from a life of heroin and prostitution.  Ellen Fitch, founder and director of Woven 139 Ministries along with Nicole Page will share their work with many women like Donna, and the development of a 2 year residential Faith Based program for women due to open in October 2015 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Heroin is running rampant and ruining lives across our country, and our beloved NKY /Greater Cincinnati area is no exception.  The vision for our area is to have more long term Christ centered residential programs.

NKY Women’s Outpost Ministry will participate in hopes to make this vision possible.  The ministry has been active in NKY for the past 11 years.  For the last 3 years, Highland Hills Church has graciously opened their Fellowship Hall so that more women can attend.

The ministry offers testimonials from inspiring speakers, talented singers, and scripture readers in the hopes of helping women continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.  Many women may need support and prayer, or need to hear encouragement from the words of the speakers.  The ministry is non-denominational with no ties to any particular church.  The meetings are non-threatening.  Women can just come, sit and listen and enjoy some wonderful refreshments.

Other speakers this summer will testify how they came to know Jesus personally, forgiving from hurt and tragedies, miracles stories of hope, turning their lives over to God’s plans, and being restored from lives of destruction.

All meetings are on Monday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at the Highland Hills Church reception hall located at 638 Highland Ave., Fort Thomas, KY.  Dates are June 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th, July 6th and 13th.

JoAnn Cornett is the chairperson of the Northern KY Women’s Ministry.   Other committee members include Terri Cornwell, Linda Dinell, Dottie Dunn, Nickie Hornsby, Judy Huddleston, Bonnie Lackey, DeeDee McGraw, Lisa McGraw, Cheryl Raso, Brenda Simpson and Pam Voeker.

If you have any questions, call JoAnn Cornett at 859-393-7925.
