Weller Haus Celebrates 25 years with New Fort Thomas Owners
Tucked away in the urban city of Bellevue is the beautiful Weller Haus Bed and Breakfast. The B&B and event center, owned by Peggy Schultz and Becky Wood of Fort Thomas, will celebrate its 25th anniversary on May 14 from 4-8 p.m. The celebration will include music by Sally Hammit and Johnny Delagrange, food, spirits and open house to view event center and rooms.
Schultz and Wood bought The Weller Haus Bed and Breakfast, at 319 Poplar Ave., in April of 2014 after their realtor told them about the facility. "We own several older properties so the Wellerhaus B & B really spoke to us and we saw the potential to expand the already established business," said Schultz.
Leanne Saylor, the previous owner, who now runs the day to day operation as the inn keeper, said the bed and breakfast has an outstanding reputation and receives over 50 percent of its business from referrals. "We are in a prime location for guests to be able to enjoy all of the events in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area and our community is walkable," Saylor said.
The suites offer upgraded amenities including jacuzzis for two, fireplaces and in-room breakfast. She said guests stay for honeymoon's, anniversaries, birthdays, sporting events, festivals, concerts, college graduations, family reunions, business travel, zoo, aquarium, weddings.
"We have a unique set-up with our two properties surrounding our gardens, patio and water features," said Saylor. "For an urban bed and breakfast, we have an expansive outdoor space where guests can relax outside of their room and enjoy nature in a quiet setting--even though they are in an 'in-town' location."
Saylor said that having a bed and breakfast and event center in one location makes the Weller Haus unique. "There is no other B&B in the area that offers the option of having an event of up to 75 guests and then being able to stay overnight. Our gardens are a favorite for guests and we offer intimate weddings for up to 50 guests in our outdoor space, which can be followed by a reception in our event center. We are the only Northern Kentucky B&B that offers guests a choice of nine items from our breakfast menu and will serve breakfast in every room or outside weather permitting."
