“I am very proud of
all of the students and their dedication to this production and the theatre
department in general,” Burgess said. “Oedipus and Antigone
are very difficult stories to tell at any age for any audience but these
students were completely committed to creating a world on stage and it is clear
that their hard work has paid off. I am so happy for them!"
The
Cappies, "Critics and Awards Program," is a program through which
high school theatre and journalism students are trained as critics, attend
shows at other schools, write reviews and publish those reviews in local
newspapers. At the end of the year, the student critics vote for awards that
are presented at a formal Cappies gala.
Tickets
to the Cappies Gala are $25 and can be purchased here.
