Detectives Adam Schepis & Phil Ridgell were on River Road following up on their cases when they spotted a vehicle that partially matched a description provided.
The couple, driving aimlessly, eventually pulled into a driveway. Schepis & Ridgell drove on only to turn around and come back to the driver approaching the residence and the passenger remaining in the car. When they approached the car Schepis recognized property in the car that had been taken in a previous burglary.
Additionally, their 1½ year old child sitting in a car seat was wearing some of the stolen jewelry.
Michael Ritchey (37) and Meaghan Roll (32) of Fort Thomas, Kentucky were both charged with one count of Burglary 1st degree and four counts of Burglary 2nd degree after they both confessed to their spree and blamed it on their heroin addictions.
"Ritchey initially denied going into the residences until shown a surveillance video which helped jar his memory," said Major Tom Scheben, spokesman for the Boone County Police Department.
Both are lodged in the Boone County Detention Center on the aforementioned charges and several arrest warrants from other jurisdictions. The child was placed with grandparents.
