|Check out the International Fair Trade Sale at Polished Pearl TONIGHT and TOMORROW.|
Browse more than 40 fair trade vendors at the International Fair Trade Sale, which will take place at Polished Pearl, 118 N. Fort Thomas Ave. "The sale features hundreds of products made by artisans from around the world who are paid a fair wage for their work," says Nancy Caine, secretary of Flutemaker Ministries. "Products range from Asia, Africa, South America and Central America, and include home décor, wood, soaps, jewelry, Christmas décor, ceramics and more."
The sale runs today, Friday, September 25, 5pm to 9pm, and again Saturday, September 26, 10am to 4pm.
"All of us who are hosting the show have personal experience either living or working in impoverished countries," Cain says.
Founded by Mary Nelson, the International Fair Trade Sale will take place three times this year, in Fort Thomas this weekend, at Fairfield West Baptist Church in Ohio, October 23-24, and at the Dearborn County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceburg, Ind., December 3-5.

Another vendor is Reegan Hill, owner of It's Only Fair located in MainStrasse Village. "Many of our products are made by women who are survivors of human trafficking and prostitution, while others are part of small social enterprises in places like India, Africa, Guatemala and Haiti that are focused on empowering the poor and breaking the cycles of poverty and oppression," Hill says. "We passionately believe that every dollar we spend here in the West is a vote for the type of world we want to live in. And that by choosing Fair Trade we can become part of the amazing stories of hope, change and empowerment that are being written everywhere."
