Top This Donut Bar; a new Cincinnati based specialty donut shop is planning to open a third location in Fort Thomas in December at The Highland Building, 18 N Ft. Thomas Ave.

A lease for the space formerly occupied by Smitty's Barbershop was signed this morning and the Top This Management Team will have a presence at that location tomorrow during Art Around Towne.

"(We) will be handing out a promotional item to the Art Around Towne guests tomorrow night.  It is a Buy one donut, get one free coupon good for any weekday at any of our current (Xavier) or future locations," said Jennifer Renfro, spokeswoman for Top This Donut Bar. "We are so excited to be a part of the Fort Thomas community and look forward to getting to know our new friends and neighbors!"

Fort Thomas Matters originally reported that the Top This management team was negotiating a lease with the Hiland Building last month after reading on Fort Thomas Matters about the city's attempt to lure Holtman's Donuts fell short.

"We read the article on Fort Thomas Matters about the attempt to get Holtman's and thought it was great," said Justin Shelton, co-owner of Top This Donut Bar. "We thought, 'Hey, maybe we can step up and give them what they wanted.'"

Top This Donut Bar features cake donuts and other sweets prepared fresh on site.  Customers choose a flavored icing, move down a topping bar and direct a server to create a personalized treat using as many or few toppings as they wish including a wide variety of candies, confections, fruits, nuts and seasonal items.

Coffee, Coca-Cola products and milk on tap are also available for customers.  Top This Donut Bar will expanded their menu at this site to include soft serve ice cream.

Top This Donut Bar is a new concept created by Shelton and his business associates.  Other locations opening in the Cincinnati area include University Station at Xavier and Anderson Towne Center opening later this Fall.

"We've got a lot of work to do to the space to prepare it, but it will be worth it," said owner of the Hiland Building, Dan Gorman. "This business is going to be very popular and will fit nicely with some of the other exciting things happening in town."

On line ordering is also available for private events, business meetings or any occasion.
