What is all this fuss about? Oh, it must be the Johnson Hullabaloo (see what I did there). The Johnson Hullabaloo, occurring tomorrow October 3 from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, is the major annual Fall fundraiser for Johnson Elementary School in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. The fundraiser, which features numerous games and activities for kids and adults alike, raises money to benefit Johnson Elementary (an award-winning KY school of distinction) with items not in the overall school budget such as: SmartBoardsTM, SuccessMakerTM software, technology and facility updates, and enrichment programs, like Art in Motion and Red Ribbon Week.
This year’s Hullabaloo promises to be a fun way to donate with the following:
BAKE SALE/ CAKE WALK
The annual bake sale and cake walk features some of the finest baked goods made by master chefs and bakers… OK, they’re mostly made by moms, some by dads, but delicious nonetheless! If you fancy yourself a pastry chef, the committee still is in need of baked goods to sell and will be accepting donations through the day October 2nd in the gym. But if you would like to just shop and not bake, stop by and pick up some items tomorrow at the festival.
Stop by anytime on Saturday in the gym and buy gifts for yourself or plan ahead for the holidays. You will find one-of-a-kind crafts for your holiday decorating, gift giving and even local team spirit items.
GAMES, FACE PAINTING, HAIR SPRAYING:
Penguin Fling, Football Toss, Fat Cats, Duck Pond, Plinko, Post Office, Roller Bowler, Putt-Putt Golf, Skee Ball, and Lollipop Pull are among the favorites! And don’t forget to have your face painted and hair sprayed in front of the gym.
2 Tickets for $1.00
|Hairspray is always fun!|
USED BOOK SALE:
Books, CDs, and DVDs with prices ranging from 50¢ to $2, plus bag options for $10. There will be board books, beginning readers, chapter books, reference books and puzzles/activities for kids. For adults, there is fiction, non-fiction, reference, cookbooks and more, depending on donations.
If you want to meet Mama on a Budget, come say hello! I will be at the Silent Auction tables in the afternoon and we have lots of wonderful items you need to bid on. Gymnasium doors open at 10:00 AM on Saturday. Check back often to ensure you win your items. Bidding will end at 5:00 PM. Some things up for grab are:
Campbell County YMCA
Plus these amazing Cornhole boards for every future Bluebird!
Look for the concessions to include home-made pulled pork sandwiches with slaw, nachos with cheese, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, snow cones, bottled water and soft drinks. Come enjoy in the school cafeteria!
So, be sure to stop by Johnson Elementary school on Saturday October 3 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm; play some games, buy a cake, bid on the silent auction of your choice, and go home happy knowing your dollars make a difference in a child’s education.
