What’s new in the health insurance market in 2016?

A few weeks ago, the largest health insurance company on Kynect (Kentucky’s health insurance exchange), announced they were going out of business in 2016.  Two new carriers, UnitedHealthcare and Aetna, will begin offering coverage in Northern Kentucky.

So there are lots of changes coming in just a few days.  Open enrollment begins 11/1/15 and you must enroll by 12/15 to start a plan for January 1, 2016.  I can help with plans purchased via Kynect for 2014 or 2015.

Can you help with Medicare products too?

Definitely!

If you are on Medicare (over 65 typically), I can help.  I am appointed to offer plans from Anthem, Humana, AARP UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Mutual of Omaha, RiverLink, and many others.  It makes a lot of sense to analyze you plan for year to year.  Especially this year.

One very popular plan recently sent a letter stating a very large NKY hospital will not be in their network in 2016.  Another popular plan just raised their price from $0 to $15 a month and increased their drug deductible significantly.  Medicare open enrollments ends 12/7.
