Mama On A Budget: YMCA Hosts Fall-O-Ween

With the annual Fort Thomas Pumpkin Walk on Thursday October 29th and Trick-or-Treating on Saturday October 31, if you’re like me you’re trying to figure out what Halloween festivities you can do on Friday!  Well, look no further than the Campbell County YMCA which will be hosting its 3rd annual “Fall-O-Ween” festival.

From 5:30-8:00 pm, the gymnasium of the YMCA will turn into a fall festival with DJ Don Wagman spinning family-friendly fall-themed tunes for members and community alike to party to.  That’s right, this event is not exclusive to members but is open to the community as a whole.

Activities will include a bounce house, cup cake walk, bumper cars, a costume contest, a caramel apple-making stand, and a number of miscellaneous games.
In addition, the YMCA will have a painted pumpkin contest and will be collecting pumpkins from Monday October 26th through Friday.  Judges will decide on the top pumpkins and all pumpkins will be on display.

The best part about all of this is it is FREE and open to members and the public with no registration required.

The Fall-O-Ween festival is one of the many community outreach programs for the YMCA.  Earlier in that same day, the YMCA has a mini-health fair planned which will include flu shots, vision and hearing screenings, massage demonstrations, physical therapy evaluations, spine exams, body fat testing, and more.  This health screening is open to the public as well!

So, get your body fat tested early in the day and then fill up on caramel apples at Fall-O-Ween that night to beat your high score (I know, that’s not how it works!).  Either way, if you’re looking for a fun-filled family night next Friday, be sure to stop by the YMCA.

  1. I remember my first time on a bouncy castle. It was a big surprise for me. I see them so often today that I forget the excitement of that first bounce. It was a very excitement games for me.
