Update on Donations to Veterans at Fort Thomas VA Hospital

Linda Slone helped to organize a donation drive for veterans staying at the VA Hospital in Fort Thomas. You can read the original article here. Today, she updated everyone on the success of the drive:

THANK YOU!!!

I want to give everyone a very special thank you for all the donations that we received for the Veterans at the Fort Thomas VA Hospital. Within minutes of the Fort Thomas Matters posting, I started receiving phone calls offering donations. I wanted to let you know what all we have received!

So far, we received:

702 pairs of socks
36 hats
97 pairs of gloves
6 scarves
50 rosaries
$600

I am told by a couple of people that they will be giving more donations. It was just so awesome! The VA Hospital just couldn't believe all the donations!! They have been able to give all the socks out to all Veterans including the homeless. The gifts were so needed. Thank you Fort Thomas Antique Center for being a collection spot for us this year!

We had also asked others to bake cookies and I had asked my teacher friends from all different schools to have their students make the Veterans some Christmas cards. Santa joined us along with Senator Wil Schroder while we delivered the cookies and cards. Eileen gave the Veterans the gifts in gift bags. and they have all been given to the Veterans. It is just awesome to know that we have provided something good to our Veterans!!

I just wanted to make sure that everyone who donated knows how thankful we are for all the donations!! I know without all my Facebook friends that we could not have done this for our Veterans. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do to help our Veterans! Happy New Year to everyone!

Thank you,
Linda Lively Stapleton Slone
P.S. If you still have donations, give me a call (859-750-9532)
