Erlanger Kidnappers Nabbed

On Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at approximately 7:15 p.m. Boone County Sheriff’s detectives working in concert with Florence Police Department officers arrested a couple for the February 14, 2016 kidnapping, robbery, & assault of a Pomeroy, Ohio man at the Quality Inn and Suites located at 1805 Airport Exchange Boulevard near Erlanger, Kentucky.

Charles Burnett Jr., 26 & Emma Haumesser, 20 both provided no home addresses were charged with Kidnapping and Robbery 1st degree.  The investigation into the incident revealed the victim from Pomeroy, Ohio contacted Haumesser through the website, backpage.com, arranging for her to come to his room at the Quality Inn.

While there, Haumesser excused herself to take a phone call and walked out of the room.  That’s when Burnett burst in the room displaying a handgun and ordered the victim to come with him.

Haumesser & Burnett drove him to six different ATM machines ordering him to withdraw money at each.  The sixth ATM machine kept the card so the two assaulted Casto and dropped him near the Red Roof Inn at 630 Donaldson Road in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Burnett Jr. & Haumesser are currently lodged in the Boone County Detention Center.  Both Kidnapping & Robbery 1st degree are Class B felonies punishable by 10-20 years in the state penitentiary.
