Wind Advisory and Pictures (4-2-16)

High Wind Warning remains in effect until 8 PM EDT This Evening.

Wind Advisory remains in effect from 8 PM to 11 PM EDT This Evening.

Freeze Warning remains in effect from 10 PM this evening to 10 AM EDT Sunday.

Wind Advisory will expire at 3 PM EDT this afternoon.

Timing: a strong cold front will cross the area this afternoon. Strong wind gusts will occur along and immediately after the front passes. Strong wind gusts will continue into the evening before diminishing. Unseasonably cold air will spread across the area tonight.

Winds: west 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.


Temperatures: lows in the upper 20s.

Impacts: scattered tree and power line damage is possible along with some minor property damage in the highest gusts. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Unprotected outdoor plants will likely be damaged or killed.
