NKY Music Legends Hall of Fame: Bill Reeder

The NKY Music Legends concert will take place June 9 at Tower Park.

Bill Reeder, sax player and music director from Fort Thomas, will be one of the inductees into The Northern KY Music Legends Hall Of Fame, June 9th at Tower Park.

After graduation from Highlands, Bill started playing for the top group in the area at the time, The Corvairs. While playing for them, he was discovered by a music scout from Las Vegas, where he wound up playing for over 20 years.

During most of that time, he played with and was the music director for Wayne Newton. When Newton moved to Branson, he talked Bill into going with him.

Newton decided to move back to Vegas, but Bill decided to stay in Branson, where he lives today. He plays with with numerous top entertainers who do shows there and teaches music at The College Of The Ozarks.

Some of the musicians Reeder has played with:
Wayne Newton
Johnny Mathis
Frank Sinatra
Tony Bennett
The Lawrence Orchestra
Debbie Boone

The ceremony starts at 6:00 in Tower Park and the Legends concert will be from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. There will be a memorabilia display and food and drinks available for purchase and this is a free event.

The other inductees to this year's class include Jack Reno, The Fabulous Shantels, Taylor Farley Jr., Chuck Rich, Red Jenkins and Ebby Hoard.
