Campbell County Ballot Position Draw (2016)

County Clerk, Jim Luersen, is ready to pull the the ping pong balls from the 20-year old coffee can to determine ballot positions for Campbell County elections in November. FTM file. 
The ballot positions were drawn today in Campbell County Clerk, Jim Luersen's, office at the Campbell County Fiscal Court Building.

We attempted to live stream it, but the signal was lost, so we were only able to capture the Fort Thomas City Council election draw.

The rest of the races will be updated in this article, so be sure to check back.

The ballot position is an underrated part of how election results are formed, particularly in races with a lot of turnover or new names.

Luersen, with the help of his deputy clerk Jen McGrath, uses the method passed down by his predecessor, Jack Snodgrass: an old coffee can and ping pong ball. See how the draw turned out at the video below:
