Johnson Elementary School Hullabaloo Festival THIS SATURDAY

Johnson Hullabaloo Festival
With a chill in the air and the smell of pumpkin spice EVERYTHING abounding, it must finally be Fall which can only mean one thing: the Johnson Elementary School Hullabaloo Festival is upon us!  That’s right, the BEST fall festival in town happens tomorrow, October 1, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Johnson Elementary School in Fort Thomas.  The festival truly has something for everyone and ALL proceeds from the fundraising festival go to benefit Johnson Elementary students directly allowing for the school to provide state-of-the-art and cutting edge teaching techniques to our students by purchasing items such as SmartBoardsTM, SuccessMakerTM software, technology and facility updates, and enrichment programs, like Art in Motion and Red Ribbon Week that are otherwise not in the budget.

OK, so full disclosure- I co-chaired the Hullabaloo planning committee this year with Lizzie Zaebst. I am admittedly biased but once you’ve read everything that this Fall Festival has to offer for people from ALL walks of life, you’ll agree that there is simply no better way to spend a Saturday than having fun at the Hullabaloo and investing in our children’s future.

Look for the concessions to include home-made pulled pork sandwiches with slaw, nachos with cheese, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, snow cones, bottled water and soft drinks. Come enjoy in the school cafeteria!

The annual bake sale and cake walk features baked goods which will help you get a head start on that winter body!  If you’d rather bake it than eat it, the committee is still in need of baked goods to sell and will be accepting donations through the end of today.

Stop by the craft boutique anytime on Saturday in the gym and buy gifts for yourself or plan ahead for the holidays. You will find one-of-a-kind crafts for your holiday decorating, gift giving and even local team spirit items.

This year the Hullabaloo will have Starbucks coffee available throughout the day for purchase.  So, get your morning pick-me-up and use that burst of energy for the…

Bounce houses!  Multiple bounce houses will be featured for kids with either a per-jump ticket option ($2 each) OR an all-day pass available for only $10 per child.  So come get your bounce on!

Games, games, games galore including everybody’s favorite carnival games, ring toss, football toss, and goldfish toss!  And who can throw a ring around a 2-liter without glitter hair, temporary tattoos, and a painted face?  All of that and more!  Game tickets are 2 for $1.00.

Have you ever watched a battle scene with castle-storming and thought, I’d sure love to operate that catapult?  Well, now you can!  Built just for the Hullabaloo, there will be a pumpkin Sling Shot to test your middle-aged, Middle Ages ability.  If you’re an artist, not a warrior, OK to paint your pumpkin and take home for decorations instead.  Pumpkins to paint are 1 for $3 or 2 for $5 and to Sling Shot a pumpkin its 4 tickets!

Books, CDs, and DVDs with prices ranging from 50¢ to $2, plus bag options for $10.  There will be board books, beginning readers, chapter books, reference books and puzzles/activities for kids.  For adults, there is fiction, non-fiction, reference, cookbooks and more, depending on donations.

Raffle tickets have been sold throughout the previous weeks for a chance at the grand prize $1,000!  I hope you’ve bought yours so come on out and listen for who the winner is!

This year’s Silent Auction features some amazing items to bid on as well as awesome classroom baskets, art projects, and more.  Plus, for the FIRST TIME EVER, the auction will be held ONLINE so bidding has actually already started (don’t delay!).  All bidding will be done from your smart phone but at the actual event, there will be people on-site to assist with the process.  Can’t make it to the event?  You can still bid! Don’t have time to check back on your bids before the auction closes at 5 pm on Saturday?  Set a “maximum bid” which will automatically increase your bid amount if you’re outbid, up to the maximum you’re willing to spend for that item!  To get a preview of the items and/or to place your bids and set your maximums, go to:

I heard there is a sweet FTM package. We'll give you the scoop on the city. Well worth the price. Trust us.

Some of the top items are:
Cincinnati Ballet- private class with a ballerina
FC Cincinnati Autographed ball and four ticket vouchers for a 2017 home game
Fit Philosophie

Photography Packages

Ultimate Air Shuttle Discounted Flights
Homemade Art

And More!

If you’re not intrigued by ANYTHING listed above then how about this final thing:

Remember, the best reason to come out and have a GREAT TIME is to invest in the future of all of our children.  So, be sure to stop by Johnson Elementary school on Saturday October 1 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm; play some games, buy a cake, bid on the silent auction of your choice, and go home happy knowing your dollars make a difference in a child’s education.
