Pearson, according to witnesses, hopped a curb in his late-model Honda traveling southbound on Grand Avenue, before traversing two front yards and finally hitting a tree head-on at the corner of Grand Avenue and Greenwood in Fort Thomas around 1:05 a.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's not clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor, but a toxicology report by the coroner may determine that at a later date.
