The Colonel's Creamery Resigns Lease in Florence

The Colonel's Creamery has been a regular at Fort Thomas events such as Art Around Towne. FTM file.
In March Don Lambert of The Colonel's Creamery asked the city of Fort Thomas for building alterations at 42. N. Fort Thomas Avenue.

Since then, the ownership group of that building has sold Amy's Market to new owners and subdivided the space to begin construction on another storefront.

While FTM reported that the deal for that subdivided space had fallen through, Lambert was still looking in Fort Thomas after his lease at Friendly Market was up.

But now, at least for the short-term, it looks like you'll have to get your Colonel's Creamery fix back in Florence.

A note from Lambert confirms that.

"Colonel Don reached an extension agreement with the owner of The Friendly Market. We will continue to operate in The Friendly Market. I am looking forward to producing fall flavors soon. We are grateful for your the outpouring of support and interest in where to get our ice cream and concern for our on going operation. We will remain in our present shop. The extension begins Sept 1, 2016.

For those of you who were stating preference for a new location in Union or Ft. Thomas, thank you for wanting us to be in your neighborhood. Your votes are duly noted. Who knows what  the future brings."

The last line, while cryptic in nature, was further clarified by a Facebook message by The Colonel's Creamery.

"Still working on Ft. Thomas."
