Fort Thomas Education Foundation OPEN HOUSE

FTM readers frequently get to see local stories on this site about your very own friends and neighbors doing really amazing work to help the community, volunteering for various causes to help those in need, and stories about the top-notch Fort Thomas School system.  Have you ever thought, while reading one such story, how you too could get involved and be the person about whom future stories will be written?  If so, keep on reading and if not, well, you probably are thinking it now so STILL keep reading.

This is an advertisement.

This Thursday, October 6, at 7:00 pm at the Tower Park Mess Hall, the Fort Thomas Education Foundation will be hosting its second annual Open House at which numerous members of the Board and committee leaders will be present to discuss the many volunteering opportunities, donor opportunities, and other ways to give back through the great work that FTEF does for the schools.

For those who don’t know, the Fort Thomas Education Foundation has been in existence for more than 15 years in an effort to help close the funding gap from state funding that the Fort Thomas Schools experience; in fact, only 39% of Fort Thomas’ funding comes from the state.  FTEF has given thousands each year for numerous teacher grants helping to fund items such as iPads, band equipment, and instruments and has given millions for the various capital building campaigns.

The funds raised are put to great use by the schools to ensure the high-quality education that our children receive but those same funds cannot be raised without community support.  To find out how FTEF can put your distinct talents to use, please join them for the Open House.  Even if your distinct talent is only your amazing dance moves, FTEF puts on the best dance of the year and could use your help!

If all else fails, they’ll have cocktails, appetizers, a $50 gift-card drawing for one lucky new attendee, and really cool, passionate, community supporters.

To find out more about FTEF visit the website at or join them on Thursday, October 6, at 7:00 pm at the Tower Park Mess Hall.
