The Studios of 33 North Before & After: A Stunning Transformation

The Studios of 33 North—a coalition of likeminded businesses—is housed in one of the city's most impressive transformations to date.

In June 2014, Ashli Slawter of A. Slawter Architecture and Schone Kitchen Design, and Brian Shackelford of Marcel Design Builders and Schone Kitchen Design, teamed up with a vision for the once-upon-a-time private residence located at 33 N. Fort Thomas Ave. in the Central Business District. They would gut the home-turned-law offices and showcase what can be done with the bones of an old house, the fine craftsmanship of a dedicated builder, and the practiced vision of an accomplished architect.

The result? A home that serves not only as office space but as showroom, complete with a gorgeous working kitchen and multiple baths. Clients, when walking through the studios, become keenly aware of the quality they can expect when teaming up with any 33 North business.

Fellow businesses include Simptech Solutions, which designs and integrates residential and commercial electronics systems, including audio and video, security, home automation and senior care monitoring, and EGT Interiors, which provides interior design services by Erin G. Torrano.

Together this coalition of businesses offers services including architecture, interior design, kitchen and bath, renovations, additions, custom homes, cabinetry, countertops, style selections, smart homes, entertainment and security.

A tremendous amount of thought was given to each room in 33 North. The melding of old and new is apparent as stained glass, painstakingly restored, remains alongside modern light fixtures and finishes. Each room holds its own, distinct style, demonstrating the flexibility in design offered by each of the businesses.

A multi-use space, clubs and organizations can use the main floor for meetings, and cooking classes and demonstrations offered by Debbie Coulter, owner of Passion In My Pans. While using the cabinetry offered by Schone Kitchen Design, potential clients can envision what their home could be, a fusion of old and new, with consideration given to both aesthetic and functionality.

Take a few minutes and watch the slideshow above for a special before-and-after look at The Studios of 33 North, and an idea of what Slawter, Shackelford and fellow 33 North business owners can do for you and your home. And stop by. Visit The Studios of 33 North on Facebook or email to tour 33 North and schedule an in-home consultation.
