The Campbell County FOP Lodge 10 held their Shop with a Cop event at Meijer in Cold Spring on Saturday.

The Lodge hosts fundraising events all year to help fund events like this.

Sgt. Nick Heiert, the incoming Lodge 10 President, once again chaired the event. He said that they sent more records, in terms of fundraising and number of children they were able to invite to the event.

"Every kid has to get a winter coat, shoes and two sets of clothes," he said. "After that, they can have some fun and get what they want. The community has really stepped up to help us put on the event, which continues to grow each year."

Heiert said that they funded shopping trip for 52 kids this year and that each child was able to spend $300.

"After this, we'll go back to the Wilder city building and wrap what they got. Spending the day with the kids that need it the most it the coolest thing that we get to do," he said.

Jim McKenna (Campbell Co. Sheriff's Office) and Jimmie Poynter (Taylor Mill Police Department) also helped chair the event.

Lodge 10 in Campbell County consists of departments in Alexandria, Bellevue, Cold Spring, Dayton, Fort Thomas, Highland Heights, Southgate, Wilder, as well as Northern Kentucky University and Campbell County Police Departments, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office, and the Campbell County Detention Center.
