Fort Thomas Police Chief Mike Daly introduced a new officer at the February City Council meeting.

Officer Wayne Dutle joined the Fort Thomas police force in December 2016, coming with four years as an officer in Newport. Prior to that, he served two years with the Pendleton County Sheriff’s Office.

“I love being here,” said Officer Dutle. “It’s a blessing for my family. The city has been very welcoming, a place I can see myself for a long time. Fort Thomas is already such a great place, and I want to come out every day and try to make it even better.”

The heroin problem continues to be a concern and he knows keeping it off the streets will be a goal of his work, he says. Additionally, he is looking forward to reaching out and strengthening ties to schools in the community.

Officer Dutle received his badge, number 4449, at the meeting. He lives with his wife and newborn son in Alexandria.
